I ♥ Ribbon

Well, we went ribbon shopping.  It was tons of fun, and we found lots and lots of ribbon.  Admittedly, there is still more ribbon we need to get.  We especially need to get some more solid colors, but those will come in the near future. I'll just add online ribbon shopping to the to-do list...

For now we have some very fun stuff to work with.  I was so excited when I got home that I stayed up until 2 a.m. making new bows.  I will be posting more pics as the days progress.  :)

On another note, Cora wore an adorable beanie with a giant pink flower on it yesterday when we went out.  I swear, almost every woman who passed us made a comment about how cute her hat was.. and of course about how cute she was..  One woman even said she looked like something out of an Anne Geddes picture.  Quite the compliment.  I think that deams the beanie & flower/bow combo a must have for all little girls!
Taken today.. same hat.. different outfit, but you get the idea.

Fall is in the air!

Warm apple cider, bonfires, chili cook offs, hay rides.. It's fall!  That brisk autumn air is amazing, invigorating, and brings with it one of the most beautiful seasons of the Midwest.  It also brings a wardrobe change!  Sweaters in deep jewel tones and earth tones, fuzzy striped socks, and scarfs.  And with that pallet change Tweet Cheeks Boutique is rolling out our fall colored bows.  We've been working with lots of browns and oranges just like the gorgeous fall trees.  And we're going shopping tonight so you'll be seeing even more fall colored bows to come :)

Don't forget to come visit us on October 7th, 6pm, at Mac's Time Out for the next Quarter Auction!  We would love to see you all there.  Visit our facebook page and check out the event for more information.. Let us know if you are coming - We would love to see you there!!

What's next?

I think tutus are going to be the next item to be made and sold by Tweet Cheeks Boutique.  They are so cute for girls of all ages. Tutus would be amazing for Halloween costumes, birthday outfits, pictures, and of course dress up!   I just have to decide what the best method is to make them.  My personal sewing guru might be coming over for a visit this week to help design and assemble the first couple.  Sooo... coming soon to a blog near you...  THE TUTU

Success is ours!

Well, we emerged victoriously from the quarter auctions.  We were a bit nervous about our public debut in the world of bows, but our nerves were quickly put to rest as customers perused our wares uttering compliments such as "soo cute!".  Not only did we sell a slue of pre-made bows, but several custom orders were made.

We did so well that we've decided to continue along on the Quarter Auction circuit.  So when is the next time you can come out to see us?  Thursday October 7th at Mac's Time Out in downtown Alton. We'd love to see you all there!!

We'd also like to thank those who supported us last night at the Quarter Auction..
Thank you to Jenny, Emily, Nikki, Teresa, Lee and Jesse... oh and let's not forget Brian :)

As usual check out our bows on facebook.  The link is in the right hand margin.  We'd love to hear back from our loyal friends, family, and followers!

Pink for October.

As most of you know October is national breast cancer awareness month, and our dear friend Jenny pointed out that we should make a bow to recognize it.

Breast cancer is the second most common form of cancer in women. Almost 200,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer yearly and over 40,000 of these cases are fatal.  So this October go pink for breast cancer and remember that early detection is your best defense!

Part of the proceeds from our breast cancer awareness bows will go to the Susan G Komen foundation.  Order yours today!

Home Parties

Tweet Cheeks Boutique has decided to start hosting home parties.  We think it will be an amazing way to provide our customers with adorable bows at great prices.  We've been ironing out the details, and will be posting the info on both our blog and our facebook page in the next couple of days.

Home parties are an excellent option.  We will provide discounts for both hostesses and party goers.  We will also bring along color chips and lots of bows so you will have the opportunity to design your custom bow to match your little one's favorite outfit perfectly.    It will be a lot of fun for everyone.

And as always... If you haven't had a chance, head over and check out our facebook page.  There is a link for it located in the right hand margin.  Our facebook page is packed with tons of bows all of which are for sale.  If you are interested in a custom bow or any of those you see posted just shoot us a message. Don't forget to leave us a comment to let us know what you think!

What's Your Lil One's Favorite Character?

Every child seems to latch onto one character and fall madly in love with it.  Sure they love other characters too, but usually they have a top pic.  For my niece, her one true love is Minnie Mouse.  Since their return from Disney world she talks constantly about the iconic Disney mouse, which is adorable since her 2yo vocabulary is still at that cute but barely recognizable stage.  Sure she also yammers on about Spongebob, Dora, and Diego, but I think Minnie is still getting top billing in her book.

My 7yo, however, is still in love with princesses.  Most kids her age seem to be outgrowing their love for Cinderella and her homegirls, but I'm glad that ours has decided to extend her stay in the little girl realm.  Right now she is particularly enamored with Tinkerbell.  All of the new Tink movies have renewed her love for the little Fairie.  Now some may argue that Tink isn't one of the princesses really, but I like to include her in there anyway. lol.

Most kids from that older age group are moving on to High School Musical, Camp Rock, and the infamous Hannah Montana.  I know inevitably that I will soon be watching these shows, but right now I'm enjoying the Disney phase. And I'm going to revel in the fact that I have an excuse to watch Princess And The Frog instead of watching Football on a Sunday afternoon.

So who is your child's favorite character?

If you are interested in having a custom character bow made leave us a comment or shoot us a message.  We would love to make whatever your (or your little girl's) heart desires!  Also, we've added a gallery page with some pics of our bows, and a link to our facebook page so you can see all the ready made bows we have in stock right now.
Don't forget to visit us at the Edwardsville Quarter Auction this Thursday!

Bald Babies Need Bows Too!!

A friend commented yesterday on our illustrious Facebook page and reminded me of a very important point... bald babies need bows!  In fact, one might argue that the bald baby girl is more in need of a frilly bow than the tot with a full head of hair.  I can't tell you how often I've heard moms complaining that everyone thinks their baby is a boy because she is still bald.  I even had one friend who's baby didn't get hair until she was almost 3. But, with the simple addition of a flower, bow, or clip that gender confusion would be out the door.

So how do you get around the complete lack of anything to clip that darling bow or flower into her hair.  Well headbands and beanies of course!  They are quick, easy, and oh so very cute.  Plus they add that extra layer of warm that our bald headed babies need in these cold months to come.  These accessories come in tons of different colors so you can mix, match, and coordinate with every color.  Or you can just stick to the basics; black, white, and brown, and decorate with all the colorful bows under the sun.

And don't worry mom's, our little fuzzy headed babies can wear them too.  Sooo cute!!

Quarters, Quarters, and More Quarters

Sarah and I had an interesting proposition this week.  Sarah was approached by the 'Quarter Auction Powers To Be' (a.k.a. Andrea) about including our bows in the future Quarter Auctions.  She invited us to come check out the proceedings at the next auction, which happened to be last night.  Now, for those of you who haven't heard of the Quarter Auctions, I have to say, you are missing out!  It was tons and tons of fun.

The Quarter Aucions are a fun combination of bingo and an auction. Vendors come and set up booths with all of their wares, and then they pick a few of those items to be used for the auction.  To bid on the items being auctioned you simply have to pay a dollar for a paddle and then it's anywhere from a quarter to 75 cents per bid.  They also have a 50/50 raffle and booby prizes.  Can't beat that with a stick!  And the vendors have lots of other stuff available for cash and carry if you are interested.  Last night we saw people from My 31, Miche, Uppercase Living, and Lula Bells just to name a few.

After a very entertaining night (in which I won a neat-o bracelet) we have decided that the Quarter Auctions will be an excellent route to get our bows out there.  Plus there is the extra added bonus that we will have a hoot while we're doing it :) We plan on entering 4 separate lots of bows to auction off .  Two sets of fall bows and two sets of Halloween bows.  We will also have a booth set up with tons of other bows for people to peruse.  We're excited to make some fun new stuff just for the auction!

So Sarah and I are throwing our hats in the ring.  We will be center stage at the next Quarter Auction and we would  L.O.V.E  to see all you girls out there!  Come join in on the fun.  Bring a group of friends and some snacks.  You won't regret it!  Not to mention, you'll get the opportunity to see our bows up close and in person.

Where?  Edwardsville KC Hall
When?   September 23 (Thursday)
Time?     6:30 - 9:30pm

Yay For Bows!

Sarah and I  (and our amazing friend Jenny) have been hard at work making tons of new bows.  We've learned a couple of new techniques, which have been so fun to play with, and we have several more styles to try out in the near future.  We have so many bows ready to go out now though!

Jenny made these... so cute!

We've been having an especially fun time playing with the big fluffy "boutique" style bows.  They are super girly and they just have that fancy frilly feel to them that little girls love so much.

I have to admit, the little barrettes are still one of my favorite styles though.  They are so versatile and they work exceptionally well in baby hair :)

This week even our 7 y.o. Kaiya got in on the fun.  She learned how to make the giant (and super adorable) hair flowers.  She had so much fun making them that she even taught her buddy Kennedy how to do it.  The girls did an amazing job and made a ton of colorful flowers!

Check out our facebook site for more pics and please leave us a comment to let us know what you think.  As always.. just shoot us a message or comment if you are interested in any of our bows or flowers :)
