Pillowcase Dresses

Tweet Cheeks has something new up it's sleeve.. Pillowcase dresses.  These little dresses are adorable.  They are simple yet sweet and look great layered over a long sleeved shirt and leggings or in the summer as a simple sundress.  Pillowcase dresses have been around forever, but are making a comeback as a fun boutique item.

Right now we have two pillowcase dresses in stock.  They are Winnie The Pooh Christmas dresses.  Both are the same pattern.  Sizing on a pillowcase dress is fairly versatile due to the flowy nature and the adjustable ribbon neckline.  The two dresses we have in stock however, are approximately 12 mos and 2T.

If you are interested in either dress or if you would like a pillowcase dress in a different size or pattern just shoot us a message and we'll get right on it!

Dollie and Me

Dollie and Me is a clothing line carried at Sears, Kohls, KMart, and Amazon.  The line consists of sportswear, pajamas, leggings, accessories, and of course lots of adorable little girls dresses.  Each item comes with a matching doll item that will fit your standard 18" doll (for example an American doll is 18").

http://www.dollieme.com/Home.aspx

Personally, I am in love with the dresses.  They are adorable! I know my 7 year old really wants one and apparently she's not the only one...  I was recently commissioned to make a set of matching bows for a little girl and her dollie's dresses.  How cute!

What do you think?  If you are interested in matching bows for your little girl and her doll we'd love to make them!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Christmas is only two weeks away...  Christmas lights line the streets.  The smell of pine fills our homes.  Frost in the air.  And shopping on all of our minds.  This is the time of year that we go out of our way to show our loved ones how much we care for and appreciate them, which translate into much gift giving (and buying!).

Quarter auctions are a grand ole place to do that belabored Christmas shopping.  20-25 vendors shoved into one hall and ready to fulfill all of your gift giving needs.  And.. If you're lucky you might just win a few of those gifts for mere quarters.  It's a one stop shop with "DEAL" written all over it!

Our Cash and Carry table at a quarter auction

Not only will these events prove to be a wonderful way to finish up your Christmas shopping, but they are a great way to let off some holiday season steam.  Hang out with some friends and do some therapeutic bidding.

If this sounds too good to be true... well come on out and see for yourself.  Our next two events are coming up quick...

Tuesday December 14 - 6 pm - Rox Arena in Roxana
... This is a fundraiser for the Oilerettes!
Thursday December 16 - 6pm - Carrollton KC Hall

If you want more info on the event email us at tweetcheek@gmail.com.  Or check out the Facebook page for the quarter auctions:

Cora Turned 1!

Well, my baby girl turned 1 this last weekend.  They get so big so fast!!  It was such an exciting day.  We decided to host a party at our home with our families.  We ordered an amazing cake, bought balloons, and decided on a theme... little pink birdies.  I'm in love with little pink birdies, and have been since before my little one was even born.  She has pink birdie bedding, and pink birdie onesies, and pink birdie bibs.. lol... so it only seemed suiting that her party would follow this theme.

Unfortunately, pink birdie party favors don't really exist.  Especially not for a one year birthday celebration  Luckily I had and amazing cake lady who created birds with fondant to fill my void... and that left just one more thing..   CoRa'S OuTfIt!!  The most important detail of all!

Sarah picked up an adorable onesie for me while out shopping... It's Carter's.

I had my mom create a custom bib for my little darling... I think she did an amazing job.

And that left me with the last details... The tutu and matching bows.

All and all I think the outfit turned out amazing!!

I didn't get any without the bib so you could see the onesie... Woops!  But here are a few more pics... because they're so darn cute.. lol

So if you would like a custom outfit for your little sweetie we can help you out.  Bows, tutus, even legwarmers.  If you have a onesie you would like us to match,  well.. we can do that.

It's finally December, and with that comes Christmas! Hooray!  In light of the season Tweet Cheeks has been hard at work making lots of lovely red, green, and gold things.  Bows and tutus galore!  Check out a few that we have in stock right now.

If you need a Christmas tutu for pictures with Santa, a visit to the North Pole, or a fun party accessory let us know.  The ones posted above are for sale and ready to go, or we would be glad to create a custom tutu just for your little one.

We also have this adorabe little outift made up and ready to go.  Size 6-9 moz.  Cream and black with an accent of pink. The outfit includes the tutu, onesie, and bow.  We could make this outfit in other sizes also.

Sorry the pics aren't amazing! Shoot us a message if you are interested... tweetcheek@gmail.com

They're Fascinating!

Anyone combing wedding magazines and websites is sure to have seen the most fascinating of wedding trends right now.. Fascinators.  Fascinators are those amazing feather head pieces you see adorning every bride and bridesmaid's hair.  But these great hair pieces aren't just for weddings.  They can work as a sophisticated hair accessory for your work Christmas party or a fun and funky adornment  for a girls night out.  Anywhere an awesome hair do is possible these feathered beauties are welcome.

With that in mind, Tweet Cheeks Boutique has started production on feather fascinators.   We have only photographed a few so far (feathers are a bit difficult to photo), but there are many more to come.
Fascinators come in a variety of sizes and styles, which we are so excited to play with.

So, if you are in the market of a great accessory, or maybe a matching set for your bachelorette party or bowling league, just shoot us a message.  We would be glad to custom make 1 or 100 for you.

A Boo-uty of a costume

Procrastination is such a dirty little word, isn't it?  None the less it is a very common trait.  I personally suffer from a horrible case of procrastination.  It's a necessary evil sometimes.  When you have a millionn bajillion things to do something is going to be put on the back burner.

So for those of us who have procrastinated our Halloween costumes... well... you're running out of time.  Halloween is in just 1 week.  And Tweet Cheeks Boutique is here to help you out.  We have an original Tweet Cheeks baby costume made up and ready to go.  Here is our ghost baby costume....

We have one made up and ready to go and have the supplies to make a few more so get them while you can!

If you had a tutu in mind for a different costume send us a message asap.  Time is running out.  Here is an example of another great costume you could through together last minute if you are interested.

Lovely Little Felted Things

I am in love with little felted creatures to wear on barrettes. In fact I love them so much that I begged my mom to join our "staff" here at Tweet Cheeks Boutique and make us tons of little felted things.   Well, so far they are sooo cute.  And I think today is a great day to unveil them....

She started with giant felted flowers.  So cute, on a beanie hat!  They remind me of blossom kind of.. lol.

Then she moved on to adorable little Hoot Owls.  I have a little obsession with owls and birds right now so I *may* have done a little persuading to get her to make these next. lol..  But I think they turned out so unbelievably cute!!  Don't you think?!    I know I need to get them on barrettes and into Cora's hair so you can get the full picture, but I think you get the basic idea here.

I'm sure my mom would love to hear what you guys think about these adorable things she has been working on, so leave us some comments and tell us what you think.  And if you would like one of these creations or a custom felted creature just shoot us a message.  :)

A Sea of Pink

Just a little reminder, though I'm sure most of you know already, October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month.  And in honor of all of those who have fought this battle, Tweet Cheeks Boutique has made up lots and lots of Breast Cancer Awareness Bows, which are now available.  Part of the proceeds from these bows will be donated directly to the Susan G Komen Foundation.

We are uploading pics of the sea of pink bows we have premade, and of course if you are looking for something else just let us know.  We would be glad to custom make a Breast Cancer Awareness bow for you.

We have headbands and hats in various shades of pink to go along with these also!  And we would be glad to make your little darling a matching pink tutu too... :)

It's Spooktacular!

Halloween is just around the corner and we have tons and tons of adorable Halloween items ready to go.  Tons of bows, some adorable tutus and even some beanie hats and headbands in orange, black.

I will be posting lots of Halloween pics on our Facebook page today so stop by and check it out.  And if you are interested in any items just send us a message. We would be glad to fill your order or even make you a custom bow for your little girls favorite Halloween outfit or her costume.

I took some pics of Cora today in one of our adorable Halloween tutus, an orange hat, and our spiderweb rose.  I think the outfit is adorable.  All three of these items are for sale and if you are interested they could of course be sold together.  The Tutu is toddler sized and could fit a much bigger girl than Cora.  It fit her loosely.

Tutus make great Halloween costumes!  A fairy princess, a haunted witch, or even an angel.  We can make them in any size or length.  Even for an adult or teen!  We have a few made up and ready to go already or place your custom order with us today.
I am in love with this hand stitched spiderweb rose.  It is spooky and cute all rolled into one!  It would work great with any Halloween outfit or as part as a costume.  Wouldn't this look cute paired with a witch costume!?

It can be clipped directly into the hair, onto a hat or even onto an outfit as a broach.  Mom's you could clip this adorable rose to your purse or diaper bag to add a little Halloween to your everyday wear.

Check out our Facebook link in the right hand margin to see our new Halloween pics.  They will be up and ready for viewing shortly.  If you like our items don't forget to show your love via comments.  And as usual you can follow us via Facebook, blogger, and now Twitter!

Even a grown up could wear em...

So.  We have tons of adorable little girly things.  Bows, flowers, hats, tutus.. you get the picture.  But all of our items thus far have really been more kid orientated.  Don't get me wrong... if you want to wear a bow more power to you.  Sarah is constantly clipping back her bangs with her little green bow. lol.  And I think Lady GaGa has made it ok for anyone to wear a tutu. But what about something super adult.  Something we could wear to work or to play.  Something pretty just for us...

Well, I have just the item.  My cousin has started creating these amazing little ribbon roses.  They are so adorable, and perfect for any occasion.  I am completely in love with them.  I plan on buying a couple for myself to wear and might just use them as Christmas presents too (so don't be surprised when you get one from me.. lol).

Now, don't get me wrong.  I am by no means trying to imply that these little babies wouldn't be adorable in your kid's hair too.  Because I think they would look awesome on a girl of any age.   The ribbon rose is an amazing multitasker!!

These bows are completely hand sewn and hand beaded.  They can be backed with a rubber band for pony tails or on a hair barrette.  They are also available on pin backs so you can stick them on your outfit, your purse or your favorite cap.  They are available through Tweet Cheeks Boutique.  If you are interested in a particular color for your flower (personally I'm thinking I might want a white flower) just shoot us a message and we'll see what we can do.

Tomorrow...

Tomorrow is the big day. We will be entering the new quarter auction circuit and raising money for the Special Olympics.  We are very excited about this new circuit and all of the charity work they do!

Admittedly, we haven't done much to prepare for the auction tomorrow.  We still need to ascertain two 8 foot table cloths, but beyond that we should have everything ready to go from the other quarter auction.  Let's hope so at least!

Sarah will also be selling Mary Kay at this auction, which is a big change.  Usually, both Sarah and I manage the bows so this will be my first time going it alone.  Wish me luck.. lol!  And wish Sarah luck on selling Mary Kay!

We hope to see you all out there.  We plan to take pics though for those who can't make it.

A new circle...

We were invited into a new and super cool Quarter Auction circle yesterday.  That's right... we are doubly cool!!  The new circuit seems to do a lot of charity auctions, which is amazing!  A large portion of the auction profits will be going to various wonderful causes.  We love that we not only get to go out and have fun, promote our business, and hang out with our super cool friends, but we also get to help those in need.  Yay!

So, we will be test driving this new quarter auction group on Tuesday October 12, 6:30pm, at the Bethalto KC Hall.  We would love to see you all there.  We will be supporting The Special Olympics :)  So bring some quarters and a group of girls.

Here's the link for the new group if you want to check it out:
http://www.quarterraffle.com/

And don't miss us tonight at Mac's Time Out in Alton at 6pm.  We will be the girls with all of the great bows... lol.  We would love to see you there!

Tutus Are Terrific!

As promised we have started production on tutus here at Tweet Cheeks Boutique.  I whipped up our first two prototypes last night and I think they turned out terrific :)  I wish I would have had some Halloween colored tulle to play with but I think these turned out pretty cute either way.

We will be going tulle shopping in the very near future for lots of new colors so if you would like a tutu for your daughter or yourself get your order in now.  These are great for Halloween costumes!!!  They would be super cute for a witch, a princess, a ballerina, a fairy, etc etc etc...

The elastic waste band makes these tutus very versatile when it comes to sizing.  These were made with a toddler in mind, but as you can see by the picture below they easily fit my little chunky baby. We can vary the length, color and how full the tutu is per your request along with waste size.  Just send us a note letting us know what you want!

Grease Lightening!

Raise your hand if you have seen the movie Grease.. Go on.. Raise them high!  Don't be shy.. I would imagine that everyone has their hand raised at this point.  I mean, Grease is a film classic  A fun chick flick that even the guys can love.

So when a customer approached us with the simple directions to make three humoungous bows to match those adorable pink and black outfits made famous by the Pink Ladies we didn't think twice about it.  An easy feat of course.  These ladies were gearing up for Halloween and thought a giant bow would be the cherry on top of an amazing costume.  And Tweet Cheeks Boutique agreed wholeheartedly of course :)

Well, the bows took a little more thought than I expected them too. Admittedly though,  that was merely because I was putting too much thought into them I think...  lol.  I was trying too hard to incorporate way too many kinds of ribbon.  But now I have finally finished them and am pretty pleased with the outcome.  So ladies.. what do you think? Do they scream Greased Lightening! or should I go back to the drawing board on this one?  Opinions please!!!

Remember, if you would like a custom bow for your Halloween costume just shoot us a message and we would be glad to create something for you :)

Is your daughter a rock star?

I think it's amazing how little kids look up to their parents and older siblings. It's so adorable when a kiddo tries to imitate something that they really can't quite grasp. How cute is the little girl who wants to be the next Taylor Swift when she grows up?  Or when your little one sings along to her favorite song in the car and you think.. hmm.. shouldn't your favorite song be "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and not Gwen Stefani's top hit.
Well... Here are just a couple of bow ideas for your little girl's inner rock star.  :)

Does your daughter need a rock star hair bow?  Shoot us a message if you are interested in one of these or a custom order!

I ♥ Ribbon

Well, we went ribbon shopping.  It was tons of fun, and we found lots and lots of ribbon.  Admittedly, there is still more ribbon we need to get.  We especially need to get some more solid colors, but those will come in the near future. I'll just add online ribbon shopping to the to-do list...

For now we have some very fun stuff to work with.  I was so excited when I got home that I stayed up until 2 a.m. making new bows.  I will be posting more pics as the days progress.  :)

On another note, Cora wore an adorable beanie with a giant pink flower on it yesterday when we went out.  I swear, almost every woman who passed us made a comment about how cute her hat was.. and of course about how cute she was..  One woman even said she looked like something out of an Anne Geddes picture.  Quite the compliment.  I think that deams the beanie & flower/bow combo a must have for all little girls!
Taken today.. same hat.. different outfit, but you get the idea.

Fall is in the air!

Warm apple cider, bonfires, chili cook offs, hay rides.. It's fall!  That brisk autumn air is amazing, invigorating, and brings with it one of the most beautiful seasons of the Midwest.  It also brings a wardrobe change!  Sweaters in deep jewel tones and earth tones, fuzzy striped socks, and scarfs.  And with that pallet change Tweet Cheeks Boutique is rolling out our fall colored bows.  We've been working with lots of browns and oranges just like the gorgeous fall trees.  And we're going shopping tonight so you'll be seeing even more fall colored bows to come :)

Don't forget to come visit us on October 7th, 6pm, at Mac's Time Out for the next Quarter Auction!  We would love to see you all there.  Visit our facebook page and check out the event for more information.. Let us know if you are coming - We would love to see you there!!

What's next?

I think tutus are going to be the next item to be made and sold by Tweet Cheeks Boutique.  They are so cute for girls of all ages. Tutus would be amazing for Halloween costumes, birthday outfits, pictures, and of course dress up!   I just have to decide what the best method is to make them.  My personal sewing guru might be coming over for a visit this week to help design and assemble the first couple.  Sooo... coming soon to a blog near you...  THE TUTU

Success is ours!

Well, we emerged victoriously from the quarter auctions.  We were a bit nervous about our public debut in the world of bows, but our nerves were quickly put to rest as customers perused our wares uttering compliments such as "soo cute!".  Not only did we sell a slue of pre-made bows, but several custom orders were made.

We did so well that we've decided to continue along on the Quarter Auction circuit.  So when is the next time you can come out to see us?  Thursday October 7th at Mac's Time Out in downtown Alton. We'd love to see you all there!!

We'd also like to thank those who supported us last night at the Quarter Auction..
Thank you to Jenny, Emily, Nikki, Teresa, Lee and Jesse... oh and let's not forget Brian :)

As usual check out our bows on facebook.  The link is in the right hand margin.  We'd love to hear back from our loyal friends, family, and followers!

Pink for October.

As most of you know October is national breast cancer awareness month, and our dear friend Jenny pointed out that we should make a bow to recognize it.

Breast cancer is the second most common form of cancer in women. Almost 200,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer yearly and over 40,000 of these cases are fatal.  So this October go pink for breast cancer and remember that early detection is your best defense!

Part of the proceeds from our breast cancer awareness bows will go to the Susan G Komen foundation.  Order yours today!

Tweet Cheeks Boutique has decided to start hosting home parties.  We think it will be an amazing way to provide our customers with adorable bows at great prices.  We've been ironing out the details, and will be posting the info on both our blog and our facebook page in the next couple of days.

Home parties are an excellent option.  We will provide discounts for both hostesses and party goers.  We will also bring along color chips and lots of bows so you will have the opportunity to design your custom bow to match your little one's favorite outfit perfectly.    It will be a lot of fun for everyone.

What's Your Lil One's Favorite Character?

Every child seems to latch onto one character and fall madly in love with it.  Sure they love other characters too, but usually they have a top pic.  For my niece, her one true love is Minnie Mouse.  Since their return from Disney world she talks constantly about the iconic Disney mouse, which is adorable since her 2yo vocabulary is still at that cute but barely recognizable stage.  Sure she also yammers on about Spongebob, Dora, and Diego, but I think Minnie is still getting top billing in her book.

My 7yo, however, is still in love with princesses.  Most kids her age seem to be outgrowing their love for Cinderella and her homegirls, but I'm glad that ours has decided to extend her stay in the little girl realm.  Right now she is particularly enamored with Tinkerbell.  All of the new Tink movies have renewed her love for the little Fairie.  Now some may argue that Tink isn't one of the princesses really, but I like to include her in there anyway. lol.

Most kids from that older age group are moving on to High School Musical, Camp Rock, and the infamous Hannah Montana.  I know inevitably that I will soon be watching these shows, but right now I'm enjoying the Disney phase. And I'm going to revel in the fact that I have an excuse to watch Princess And The Frog instead of watching Football on a Sunday afternoon.

So who is your child's favorite character?

If you are interested in having a custom character bow made leave us a comment or shoot us a message.  We would love to make whatever your (or your little girl's) heart desires!  Also, we've added a gallery page with some pics of our bows, and a link to our facebook page so you can see all the ready made bows we have in stock right now.
Don't forget to visit us at the Edwardsville Quarter Auction this Thursday!
